Vigor ushers in a new era in cruise ship repair with the arrival of Norwegian Star on March 3

From the late 1980’s to 2003, when its previous drydock was sold, the Swan Island shipyard in Portland was a major hub for cruise ship repair and modernization.
The yard’s experienced teams earned a solid reputation for superior service with major lines like Holland America, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
On March 3, Vigor will begin a new era in cruise ship repair on Swan Island with the arrival of the 2,300 passenger Norwegian Star, owned by Norwegian Cruise Line. The project will employ roughly 750 workers a day thanks to Vigor’s acquisition of the largest floating drydock in North America, the Vigorous.
